As we begin a third month of shutdowns and distancing, the world’s focus is understandably on caring for those stricken by the virus, assisting our heroic caregivers and on finding a vaccine. Though much is still unclear, the 2020 election is a certainty. The Center for Responsive Politics is committed to staying on watch, bringing you the latest data and news surrounding the upcoming races and the money-in-politics issues you care about.

Although our analysts, reporters, programmers and developers may be working remotely, we promise to continue to give you the most comprehensive and current information on the election. We have beefed up
OpenSecrets' 2020 Presidential Race ([link removed]) section, providing the most trusted numbers on who’s giving: from “mega” to small donors; on industry PACs and the lobbyists who represent them; and outside issue groups spending millions to influence voters.

OpenSecrets has the most comprehensive data on where the two presumptive presidential nominees are getting their money, and a new feature with the latest numbers on how much the candidates and their allied outside groups are spending on online political ads. Now that in-person campaigning has all but ceased and candidates are substituting rallies for virtual messaging, they’ll be spending huge amounts on digital communications—and OpenSecrets is creating the most accessible and up-to-date tool for tracking that spending.

Now more than ever, while our attention is understandably on the global pandemic, it’s important we continue to serve our watchdog role. The collective data and analysis in this section is vital for the public—and for the news sources and groups that keep them informed. It's where voters can get the facts before casting their vote in November.
