I’m eager to see Minnesota’s own Governor Tim Walz take the stage in the first vice presidential debate of the election tomorrow. 

Minnesotans know who Governor Walz is and what he stands for. Under his leadership, our state passed transformational policies that improve people’s lives by providing free school meals to children, protecting reproductive freedom, expanding resources for our LGBTQ+ community, defending the right to vote, supporting immigrants and refugees, and more. 

If Vice President Harris and Governor Walz are elected, they’ll continue to fight for our freedoms, support the right to be who we are and love who we choose, and create more opportunities for all of us. Their hopeful vision for our country stands in stark contrast to what we’ve heard from Donald Trump and JD Vance.

Trump and Vance’s extreme MAGA agenda is a direct threat to our future. It would end reproductive freedom, curtail voting rights, and make it harder for people to live with dignity and safety. 

The stakes of this election couldn’t be higher. As we’ll see in tomorrow night’s debate, we have a clear choice between moving forward together with hope and joy or falling back into the mistakes of the past. 

To prove that we’re not going back, we need to secure 1,000 individual donations from DFLers who are standing with Governor Walz before the vice presidential debate.
