Dr. Meera, one of PRH’s new Fellows in our LTA Class of 2025, writes in the Detroit Metro Times about how the Hyde Amendment, which restricts federal funding for abortion, disproportionately harms low-income and patients of color in Michigan and across the U.S. and calls for its immediate repeal. 

In our newest blog, If/When/How Reproductive Justice Fellow Natasha Rappazzo reflects on the harmful impact of the Hyde Amendment over its 48-year history. The good news is that advocates have been working hard to repeal Hyde and advance bold policies like the EACH Act, which would eliminate these coverage bans and help ensure equal access to abortion for all.

PRH Fellow Dr. Diane Horvath spoke to Salon about how post-Dobbs abortion restrictions and barriers are increasingly forcing patients to delay abortion care to later in pregnancy.  

"What has happened with a lot of our patients is that they've been trying to have an abortion for months, and the costs and barriers start to compound and become insurmountable until people are later in pregnancy."
