FNUSA Submits Recommendations for the National Human Trafficking Hotline's Policies
Each year, FNUSA provides recommendations to the Office on Trafficking in Persons for its grant programs. In light of increased scrutiny of the National Human Trafficking Hotline (NHTH), FNUSA submitted thorough recommendations about reducing the amount of harmful reporting to law enforcement.
Survivors deserve access to a safe, confidential hotline where they can be connected with appropriate services within minutes. By redirecting callers attempting to report tips to law enforcement tiplines, the NHTH would be able to more effectively respond to survivors' needs.
Freedom Network USA is the largest and most comprehensive national coalition serving human trafficking survivors in the United States. Our members are the leading advocates in the anti-trafficking movement who come together to influence federal and state policy, provide training and technical assistance, and support each other in navigating complex systems.
