Dear Friend,
Today is Day One of FAMM’s Clemency Now! Leading With Justice and Mercy campaign. We need your help to win freedom and justice for a record number of people in prison and reunite them with their families!
Sign our petition asking President Joe Biden and our nation’s governors to use their clemency powers now! [link removed] [[link removed]]
Clemency is a powerful way to give many families and their loved ones a second chance when all other options have failed. For so many people, other avenues to freedom – like compassionate release, parole, and second look laws – are just not available for reasons that have nothing to do with the person's case or clear record of rehabilitation.
Clemency reflects values of mercy and justice – values that the president and governors have stated time and again are important to them. So why is it almost never used?
Tell President Biden and state governors that they should use those powers and grant clemency now: [[link removed]] [link removed] [[link removed]]
For the next four months, FAMM will be urging our nation’s leaders to embrace justice and mercy by granting clemency now! Every week, FAMM will be sharing content and actions you can take to help us make the case. We will also share trainings so you can learn what clemency is, how it works, and how to apply.
Stay tuned for more information about how to do your part for this campaign – and in the meantime, please sign and share our petition demanding that the president and governors use their clemency powers now! [[link removed]] [link removed] [[link removed]]
