Persia White—actress, musician, and co-producer of the documentary Earthlings—recently joined us to talk about her lifelong animal activism. “Once I learned about what’s actually going on,” she told us, “I knew I didn’t want to support the viciously cruel systems that are creating suffering for animals, hurting people, and destroying our planet.”

“Animal welfare organizations expose disturbing cruelty and unethical practices that would otherwise go unseen,” says Persia. “They shed light into the darkest corners of the world—and uncover the truth.”

The truth is that all over the world, animals are suffering in our food system. Their pain goes unacknowledged. Their cries go unheard. This World Farm Animals Day, let’s prove that compassion can be louder than cruelty.
