We wanted to take one more chance to thank you today. Hopefully you saw the email below.
Today is #GivingTuesdayNow, and on this day of unity, we want to express how grateful we are for your support, even during these uncertain times. Your generosity and support fuels our fights and victories.
You are the reason we do this critical work and with you on our side, we know we can win!
Today is #GivingTuesdayNow, a day that’s about giving and unity in the face of unprecedented need. During this national emergency, it’s a day for us to come together to support the things we care most about.
While #GivingTuesdayNow is a day to encourage support for worthwhile organizations, we also want to use this day to say thank you to every person who supports our work.
It’s because of you that we’ve been able to help real people and check the dangerous power of giant corporations. It’s amazing to think about what we’ve accomplished in just the past few weeks alone. With your support, we:
Led the fight to stop water shutoffs in Washington D.C., 15 states, and 664 cities and towns across the country.
Helped protect 210 million Americans from water shutoffs – that’s 64% of the U.S. population.
Mobilized more than 30,000 people to demand Congress not support a Big Oil bailout.
Demanded that EPA and USDA step up to enforce basic food safeguards and environmental protections.
Fought to get safety equipment for the people who process and inspect our food to protect their health and help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
More than ever, your support has made a difference to real people across the country. We’ve pushed back against corporations trying to exploit this crisis. We’ve protected our food and water. We’ve made an impact.
We’re so grateful that you’re standing with us. And we’ll always be proud to invite you to join us in our work continuing to protect millions across the country from water shutoffs, dangerous pipelines, fracking and factory farms.
And while we’re clearly busier than ever right now, let’s not forget that in the last 15 years, thanks to the actions and support of people like you, we’ve proven again and again how to fight for real people — and win.
Thanks to your support we banned fracking in Washington, Maryland and New York. We banned fracking waste in Connecticut, passed a fracking moratorium in Oregon and won a drilling moratorium in Ventura, California. We stopped polluting pipelines like the Williams pipeline in New York and New Jersey. And in Piscataway, New Jersey we helped pass a ground-breaking 100 percent clean energy program. And there’s so much more to come.
Your generosity fuels our work — on the ground, in the halls of Congress and in the courts. You are the reason why we do this work. Since we don’t take corporate or government funding, we literally could not do any of this work without you.
So on this #GivingTuesdayNow, I want to thank you so much for your support, caring and generosity.
