John -

Today is the LAST day to support the launch of our solar energy campaign in the Brazilian Amazon before we close the budget on the fiscal year at midnight.

And when I looked over our numbers this morning, I noticed that we are still falling short. So if you're able, please make a donation before our midnight deadline to help launch our new solar energy campaign. Your support will help fight back against the fossil fuel industry and create community-owned renewables across the Brazilian Amazon.

CONTRIBUTE $3.50

John — many of the communities we'll be working with have never had reliable access to electricity in their homes. On top of that, many of them are also experiencing extreme drought caused by climate change. The fossil fuel industry will use water from the same rivers these communities rely on for their disastrous projects, putting communities across the Amazon in an even more vulnerable situation.

Here's the thing: the fossil fuel industry wants everyone to think we need their oil and gas to bring power to our homes and communities.

But that is a lie. We don't need their dirty power. Instead, we are harnessing the power of climate activists and leaders around the world to build OUR OWN renewable energy projects.

Your support today helps to bring real energy to communities who've been left in the dark, and takes the power out of the hands of the fossil fuel industry and places it into the hands of the people most impacted by the climate crisis.

Fundraising Deadline: 30 September

John -

The stakes for our planet have never been higher... Wildfires, record-breaking heat, massive flooding — this is the reality we will be facing if we do not take bold climate action to stop the fossil fuel industry now.

That's why we're launching our next, major climate campaign to stop their disastrous exploitation of our planet and communities. But we are facing an important fundraising deadline that will determine how big we can go for our next campaign...

September 30 marks the end of the fiscal year here at 350.org. It is the day when we will lock in our budgets and determine how much we are able to spend on the next fiscal year's campaigns starting on October 1.

So I have to ask before it's too late:

Can you make a donation today before we close the budgets on September 30? Your donation will power the biggest and boldest climate campaigns we have ever run.

CONTRIBUTE $3.50

Climate activists across Latin America are gearing up to launch a major solar energy campaign in the Brazilian Amazon to empower remote communities to take renewable energy generation into their own hands. Their goal is to create renewable energy in the world's largest tropical forest and give many people access to safe energy, while protecting this unique and precious ecosystem from destruction.

But they are up against the entire force of the fossil fuel industry, which is expanding quickly throughout the continent:

The Brazilian government and fossil fuel companies are already extracting fossil gas without consulting the local communities and they are planning to start offshore oil extraction near the mouth of the Amazon River, one of the three largest rivers in the world.1

350.org has been supporting local groups standing up to the polluters while fighting together with the Latin America movement to stop them from going even further. But the pressure from big corporations and government members is mounting...

Can you help fight back against the fossil fuel industry in Latin America with a donation today?

FIGHT BACK

This campaign is about more than tackling climate change — it's also about ensuring that local communities have a say in shaping their future and reaping the benefits of fair and renewable energy.

Thank you for chipping in whatever you can today. Your support — especially before this critical deadline — makes a material difference in the lives of climate activists standing up to the fossil fuel industry.
