On September 4, two students and two teachers were shot and killed at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia — the 218th time a firearm has been fired or brandished at a U.S. school this year. 218.
Every time we hear the news of another shooting at a school, our hearts break all over again. We know that families are being torn apart, and children and teachers are no longer safe in their own classrooms. How many more will it take before we all demand real change?
At Stand With Parkland, we’ve been fighting for that change every day since the day our loved ones were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. But we can’t do it alone. With each new tragedy, the urgency grows — and so does the need for action.
This is a critical moment. 218 school shootings in 2024 alone is an unbearable number, and the reality is that without stronger laws and policies, this number will only grow.
We need your help to keep pushing for life-saving reforms. The end of the quarter is tonight, and we need to raise $3,000 before midnight to continue our advocacy efforts, reach more lawmakers, and protect more lives.
If you can, please donate today. Your contribution will help us keep fighting for the safety of our children and teachers before another school becomes the next headline.
