Help Feed Animals in Need on #GivingTuesdayNow
Dear John,
For many years, AWI has participated in Giving Tuesday--a global day of giving on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. #GivingTuesdayNow is a newly created global day of giving and unity taking place today, May 5, 2020, as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an opportunity for compassionate people around the world to stand together--to counter our own feelings of powerlessness by helping others. Even as we practice physical distancing, we can remain connected through kindness and generosity.
Through #GivingTuesdayNow, nonprofit organizations around the world are addressing the fallout from COVID-19 within the context of their particular mission. For AWI, that mission is to prevent needless suffering of animals. And we know that in the midst of the pandemic, people under economic strain may have difficulty caring for their companion animals and feel they have no choice but to surrender them to already overburdened shelters. But together, we can help.
Every dollar donated to AWI today will be given to food banks for companion animals in areas particularly hard hit by the virus and its economic impacts. By keeping companion animal food banks adequately provisioned throughout the country, we can help ease the burden on companion animals, their humans, and animal shelters.
Will you join us today to help support those in need? One hundred percent of donations received today will go directly to food banks for companion animals in areas particularly hard hit by the virus and its economic consequences.
