Dear John,

Ghanaian economist Dr. George Ayittey, often called the Milton Friedman of Africa, was recognized as the continent’s top economic mind and a passionate supporter of free markets.

Dr. Ayittey passed away in 2022, but throughout his life, he was optimistic about Africa’s future.

He even had a nickname for the youth movement advocating for freedom throughout the region.

He called it “The Cheetah Generation.”

He gave it this name because Africa is the world’s youngest continent, and freedom is sprouting very quickly despite immense challenges.

For example, one challenge is that many African governments still operate on socialist and communist ideas.

They’ve made everyday trade and travel so difficult that leaving the continent altogether is often easier.

But despite this, and despite Africa having the fewest number of pro-freedom institutions of any continent in the world, advocates are still delivering stunning victories.

For instance, we shared the story of Ethical African Organization in Uganda and how they successfully reduced motorbike license fees by 75%, ending a system of corruption and transforming the economy for transportation workers.

And we shared the story of African Students For Liberty and how their professional development training helped students establish over 20 free market think tanks across Africa.

Many members of “The Cheetah Generation” have succeeded because of the training and support they’ve received from Atlas Network.

They’re changing lives and transforming communities even though the journey isn’t easy.

That’s why it’s so important that they continue receiving our financial support.

Today is the conclusion of our end-of-quarter giving campaign to raise funds for Atlas Network training programs, particularly for our partners in Africa.

We hope you’ll chip in so we can continue offering these programs to our partners who truly need them most.

Please join us in investing in the future of free enterprise by sending a gift before 11:59 PM tonight.
DONATE NOW
A small donation can be all it takes to empower the next rising star of Africa’s Cheetah Generation.

Aimable Manirakiza only needed a $2,000 Atlas Network grant to found his organization, Centre for Development and Enterprises, Great Lakes.

Linda Kavuka of African Students for Liberty only needed a grant for travel expenses to receive key Atlas Network training.

The next champion of freedom might only need less.

Please join us to build a freer, more prosperous Africa by sending your first gift by the end of the night.

Thank you,

Kam

P.S. Even a gift of $5, $10, or $25 would go a long way toward supporting Atlas Network partners in Africa and across the globe. Please chip in before midnight tonight to take part in our end-of-quarter giving drive. Thank you again!
