Last month we partnered with American Roots, a 100% union-made company in Maine, to provide over 1,800 frontline health care workers in state-run veteran homes with much needed personal protective equipment.

We turned to this team to help raise the funds, and within 24 hours we had raised enough to cover the cost of making and shipping all 1,800 face shields.

We're currently working with American Roots to produce the order, and soon enough those face shields will be in the hands of essential workers who need them the most and are serving our veterans during the COVID-19 crisis.

I don't take for granted that every time we ask for help to enrich, protect, or fight for the lives of veterans and military families, this team shows up. Every time. I'm so grateful for your part in this, especially.

We have a lot of important work ahead of us, and the coming weeks and months will not only test the resolve of our movement but that of our nation and global community, as we battle the health crisis. I believe we can make it through this, especially if we do it together.
