Hey friend,

Did you see my message yesterday? With so many things happening, both at the state and federal level, I wanted to make sure we paused to celebrate and thank the heroes on the frontlines of this crisis.

That's why I asked you to submit a story if you know or are a frontline worker. My heart goes out to the nurses, doctors, health care workers, retail workers, and first responders who are putting their own safety on the line to keep our communities safe and supported.

Please read on below to hear their stories. And, if you are able, go to our RVAStrong website to look for opportunities to give back.

Please continue to stay home and stay safe!

Subject: Thank you

We asked about your frontline heroes and you answered! Here are a few of the responses:

My mother in law… is a licensed clinical social worker who works at a dialysis center. She goes to work 50 hrs a week. She has a huge heart and is doing everything she can and then some to help during this time of crisis. - Laura

My daughter is an essential worker, a single mother of 3 children and she takes care of her aging father. We must honor her as she works in a Senior Living home. Let's continue to pray for all essential workers. - Alecia

I am one of the RPS volunteer leads for the food distribution program, and I have gotten to know Jannie the manager. She is a working machine. They are working in difficult circumstances and always with a smile on their face. - Nikki

And we have one more we wanted to share...

Countless volunteers and health care, sanitary, and food workers are on the frontlines providing their services through this pandemic. Without their sacrifice, we would not have the support we need to continue with our daily lives during such unprecedented times. I want to say THANK YOU to these workers and other unsung heroes who are putting their health and safety on the line for our community - Mayor Stoney

From all of us at Team Stoney and from our friends and neighbors in Richmond we wanted to say thank you!
