This is never an easy email to send, friend. But my last end-of-quarter FEC deadline before the election is at MIDNIGHT — and I want to be completely transparent about where things stand right now.

I've just met with my finance team, and, unfortunately, we’re projected to fall $103,647 short of our $6 million fundraising goal. This is a historic goal for our campaign, and we need a surge in grassroots support right now if we want to close the gap. And with the future of our democracy at stake this November, I can’t afford to miss this goal. Will you chip in $5 to help me defeat Rick Scott and flip Florida blue?

When our numbers go public tomorrow, all eyes will be on us to see how deep this support goes. From Rick Scott to Mitch McConnell, everyone will use my fundraising numbers to test the strength of this grassroots campaign. That's why it's critical to meet this goal and why I'm counting on you to help. 

While my opponent, one of the richest senators in the country, is more than capable of self-funding his campaign, I'm fully relying on grassroots support from people like you to help me fight for Florida's future. 

We can’t keep letting politicians like Rick Scott buy their seat. We have to do something about it, which means we have to win. Every dollar counts, friend, and that means every dollar could be the difference between winning or losing this November. 

We have to stay ahead of our fundraising goal if we want a good chance at defeating Rick Scott and flipping Florida. This could set the tone for the rest of the race. So please, will you help close this gap by donating $5 or more right now so that I can win in Florida and keep the Senate blue?
