Despite the fact that we’re in the middle of a pandemic, with U.S. coronavirus deaths nearing 70,000 and Mississippi experiencing record numbers of new cases, the Trump administration is continuing its legal battle to overturn the Affordable Care Act – and our far-right opponent Cindy Hyde-Smith wants to see it repealed too.

The truth is, the ACA is protecting people from COVID-19 as we speak. Without it, anyone with the virus could have been at risk of losing their health coverage if their insurance company deemed them “uninsurable.” The ACA’s ban on denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions has literally saved lives and decreased the number of uninsured Americans.

Yet President Trump and Hyde-Smith are fighting for the ACA’s destruction, even if it means putting millions of Americans at risk of losing their care in the midst of a pandemic.

Mike Espy believes not only in protecting the ACA, but making health care even more affordable and accessible by finally expanding Medicaid in Mississippi, something that should have been done a long time ago.

With attacks on our health care continuing, we need Mike in the Senate to defend our care now more than ever. Thanks for fueling our work to make that happen this November.
