To those who say the Democratic Party has changed, I say that’s a good thing. I’m glad this is not the Democratic Party of my father.

When I was born, less than 1% of Black South Carolinians could vote. I still remember when my father got the right to cast a meaningful and effective vote.

We have opened up our party to all Americans, and now, we’re organizing to elect the first woman president of the United States.

The Republican Party has become the party of Trump -- the party of a convicted felon. It’s been taken over by MAGA extremism and toxic rhetoric -- like Trump and JD Vance’s recent baseless attacks against immigrants. Trump and the GOP want to divide us and weaken Americans’ reproductive rights, voting rights, and our democracy itself. 

The Biden-Harris Administration and Democrats have created millions of good-paying jobs, lowered prescription costs, passed historic climate action and the first new gun violence prevention law in decades, and delivered millions of dollars worth of student debt relief. 

I’m hitting the campaign trail to support Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats, and I’m counting on your help. I’ve met with faith voters in upstate New York and Fulton County Georgia Democrats -- and that’s only the beginning. It will take a lot of hard work and sustained effort to get our message in front of people and mobilize voters.
