Friend,
If I had a dollar for each time I've reminded you that Rick Scott spent $64 MILLION of his own personal fortune to buy Florida's Senate seat in 2018, I'd probably be just as rich as he is.
Sadly, I don't — which is why I'm relying on your grassroots support to beat the odds, retire him, and flip Florida blue. But before I ask you to chip in today, there's another question on my mind:
Have you ever stopped to consider just how much $64,000,000 really is?
Well, it's enough to pay 1,003 full-time workers the national average salary.
It would cover a month's worth of groceries for 55,750 Florida households.
It would allow nearly 623 full-time, in-state students to earn their four-year bachelor's degrees at one of Florida's public universities for free.
According to Redfin, it could buy an entire neighborhood of 159 houses at Florida's current median home price.
And at 2023's average rate, it'd cover 5,820 annual homeowners' insurance payments.
It's enough to pay 33,560 seniors the average monthly Social Security check.
Otherwise, it'd cover a comfortable 18-year income for 62 average retired Florida couples.
But did Rick Scott's $64 million go toward any of those things?
Nope! That small fraction of his nine-figure net worth was only just enough to scrape out a six-year stint in Congress.
Unlike him, I'm not running because I can buy my way onto Capitol Hill. I'm running a grassroots-powered campaign because, like other everyday Floridians, I'm sick of his power-hungry, self-serving grift.
And I know our movement has the momentum to send him back to his Naples McMansion this fall, but tomorrow is my LAST end-of-quarter deadline before the election, and I can't reach my historic $6 million fundraising goal without the urgent support of this grassroots team.
So, before 11:59 p.m., friend, will you chip in $5 or whatever you can spare to help me retire an out-of-touch extremist like Rick Scott? I literally can't afford to win Florida's Senate race without you.
