Folks, what does it mean to be the first?
To be the first means breaking the glass ceiling, making history and inspiring millions of people who want to follow in their footsteps.
And my good friend Lisa Blunt Rochester – the Congresswoman from Delaware – is one step closer to being the first woman and person of color to represent the First State in the Senate.
But for Lisa, it means much more. Before I go on, will you support her Senate campaign by donating $10 or more?
Throughout her career, Lisa Blunt Rochester has always put people over politics. In Congress, she’s fought to protect voting rights and a woman’s right to get the reproductive health care she needs, and she has worked to lower everyday costs for hard-working families.
Her opponent, however, is too busy putting money over people. He’s funding his own campaign with nearly a million dollars, and relies on GOP mega donors and far-right media outlets to attack Lisa.
That doesn’t sound like a leader who cares about every Delawarean.
To top it all off, political pundits doubt Black women candidates’ ability to win. But Lisa has a proven record of winning tough races – and control of the Democrats’ one-seat Senate majority runs through Delaware.
We need to all band together to help Lisa cross the finish line and make history. With our Senate majority at stake, will you chip in $10 or more to help Lisa keep Delaware blue?
