In just a moment, I’m going to ask you for a $3 donation ahead of this month’s quarterly FEC fundraising deadline – our final deadline before voting begins. But first, I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain what this deadline means, and why your support is so critical.

The Federal Election Commission requires all federal campaigns to file a fundraising report every three months detailing how much they’ve raised and how many donors have given to their campaign. This report will go public, which means it will send a message about our campaign’s strength.

Like it or not, these reports are how our opponents, the media, and even some undecided voters will gauge our viability. Because this is our last report, it’s going to help shape the narrative of the final five weeks of our campaign.
