Together, we can hold Bezos accountable for workers' health and safety.

Dear Friend,

On this global day of giving, many of us are supporting local food banks and first responders.

And if you have a little more to give, please consider supporting Green America’s work to hold Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon and richest person in the world, accountable for his workers’ health and safety.

The COVID-19 crisis highlights Jeff Bezos’ greed and shortsightedness—he's valuing profits and personal wealth over the well-being of his warehouse workers, forcing them to work in unsafe conditions in order to pay their bills. Workers in 130 Amazon warehouses have gotten COVID-19 due to unsafe conditions. This is shameful!

Jeff Bezos has personally made over $24,000,000,000—that’s billion with a “B”—since the start of 2020 and increased orders due to COVID-19 are a major driver.

And yet he’s still not willing to offer Amazon workers paid sick leave or meaningful steps to protect their health. This is predatory capitalism at its worst.

Bezos puts his profits over the health of all of us.
We won’t stand for it!

Consumer pressure on Amazon.com got Bezos to commit to 100 percent renewable energy by 2030.  We can get him to protect workers as well.

The richest person in the world is getting richer while Amazon workers report grueling and dangerous warehouse conditions. They can only access paid sick leave with proof of a positive COVID test.

But with tests in short supply and results taking sometimes more than a week to be verified, this requirement is not just unfair—it is deadly.

Support our work calling on Jeff Bezos to build a safer, fairer company for his workers.

Please join us to use this time for powerful change!

Here's to your health and the health of your family, friends, community, and the world we share.

Yours for good,

Alisa Gravitz
President
Green America

P.S.  This Giving Tuesday please support Green America’s work to hold Jeff Bezos, accountable for his workers’ health and safety. Because everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
