Somebody has to say it. We must defeat Rep. Valerie Gaydos in this November’s election.
Rep. Gaydos is a danger to her constituents in Western PA and our entire Commonwealth community. She has consistently voted against bipartisan measures proven to reduce gun violence, including requiring the reporting of lost and stolen firearms,1 banning bump stocks,2 and mandating electronic records of gun sales to be submitted to law enforcement3 – bills that all failed by a one-vote margin.
She has more than earned her F grade on gun safety,4 but that’s not all. She is an active member of Firearm Owners Against Crime (FOAC), an organization of foot soldiers for the gun lobby. They jeer and harass the gun violence survivors and constituents that Rep. Gaydos routinely ignores, with her tacit approval.
Let me tell you more about Hadley. She is a mom and proud Pittsburgh native who was driven into politics specifically to fight for gun safety in schools after the Sandy Hook massacre in 2012. With two disabled boys at home, Hadley stepped into her power and became the co-lead of the Pittsburgh chapter of Moms Demand Action.
Hadley is the real deal, and we are so proud to help her flip a pivotal seat in the PA House and become the one vote that could’ve let those three bills pass. In her own words, “Gun safety is the issue that got me off of the sidelines and into politics. I believe all communities deserve to be represented by leaders who value the lives of children more than the interests of gun extremists”
