Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti kicks off the #FosterChallenge!

To help celebrate National Foster Care Month, First Star has teamed up with the Mixed Roots Foundation and Music is Unity for a first-of-its-kind #FosterChallenge to raise awareness and funds to meet the urgent needs of foster youth across the country. The #FosterChallenge is an online campaign that brings together celebrities, businesses, government officials, entertainers, and sports figures who have created exciting experiences and items to help raise funds, which will be distributed to 25 nonprofits who work with foster youth.

First Star is one of these partner nonprofits!

The online silent auction will benefit the newly established #FosterChallenge Emergency Fund. It will cover the costs of essential resources, including food, shelter, childcare, healthcare, education, employment, and technology for youth in foster care.

The #FosterChallenge auction officially launches TODAY HERE, in concert with the global #GivingTuesdayNow campaign, and will continue all month long in celebration of National Foster Care Month.
