Today, I’m reflecting on what public lands mean to me. This afternoon I spoke on a panel at a packed event in St. Paul to celebrate National Public Lands Day and the Boundary Waters. 

I conversed with so many passionate Wilderness advocates, and I was reminded of how many of us share a deep and lasting connection to the Boundary Waters, and that there is power in our collective voice. 

When we work together, we can achieve incredible things. We can protect remarkable undeveloped places like the Boundary Waters from an international billionaire mining conglomerate and Congress members who don’t care about what the majority of people want – to protect the Boundary Waters forever.
