As we celebrate National Public Lands Day, one of the projects we can't stop talking about is restoring habitats throughout the California Central Coast! Portions of the Central Coast, especially along beaches and coastal bluffs, have a long and impressive history of land conservation investments. But the same can’t be said for the interior and rural areas. While those by the coast have an abundance of gorgeous public lands to explore, look just a few miles inland and there are entire communities with no public lands accessible within a 30-minute drive.

The consequences of underinvestment in other regions of the Central Coast are exacerbated as climate threats continue to increase. Heat waves, wildfires, and floods are now deadlier than ever, threatening the health and overall well-being of marginalized communities as well as the region's biodiversity. TPL is protecting, connecting, and restoring this region's habitats to make California's Central Coast more resilient to climate change.
We have a historic opportunity to take care of this land by creating parks and open spaces. Support this ongoing work by making a gift to TPL this National Public Lands Day while all gifts up to $100,000 are 5X matched! This special matching gift offer ends at midnight tonight, so, please, don't delay your support.
The work in California's Central Coast is just one of many impactful projects we're working on across the country. From revitalizing urban parks in bustling cities to expanding green spaces in underserved communities, we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people everywhere. With over 300 active projects in the works, your support today will help us continue creating a legacy of green spaces for everyone to enjoy.

P.S. We do our best not to send appeals to members who just made a gift, but sometimes our records don't update fast enough to keep recent donors from receiving a fundraising email like this. So, if you did just give, thank you for your support, and our apologies for the extra message!
