Voter suppression, gerrymandering, and dark money are threatening the integrity of our elections, but we have a solution with four bills that stand between us and the destruction of our democracy:

• The Freedom to Vote Act: This bill establishes national voting standards, making voting easier and fairer. It ensures automatic voter registration, protects early voting, and bans partisan gerrymandering.

• The Native American Voting Rights Act (NAVRA): Native communities face some of the toughest barriers to voting. NAVRA mandates equal access to polling places and allows tribal IDs for voting, ensuring Indigenous voices are heard.

• The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act: Racial discrimination in voting is rampant, and this bill will restore the protections stripped from the original Voting Rights Act, preventing states from passing discriminatory voting laws.

• The Washington D.C. Admission Act: Over 700,000 D.C. residents pay taxes but have no voting representation in Congress. This bill will grant D.C. statehood and the representation they deserve.

Together, these four bills form a powerful shield to protect our voting rights. But the window is closing, and we need to act fast. Every day that Congress delays is another day that the right to vote is stripped away from the people who need it most.

There’s no denying that our democracy stands on the brink of collapse as MAGA Republicans continue their relentless assault on voting rights. With restrictive laws being passed in state legislatures across the country, communities of color, the elderly, and young voters are being deliberately silenced.

This isn’t just happening in the shadows. The GOP's strategy is clear: weaken access to the ballot, especially for those who don’t align with their far-right agenda. From restrictive voter ID laws to purges of voter rolls, the aim is to make voting harder for any demographic that isn’t a white male.

The bottom line is that we cannot stand by while the right to vote, the bedrock of our democracy, continues to be stripped away. But without action from Congress, these targeted attacks will keep spreading, and millions of voices will be silenced.
