Dear John,
It was a busy week, but I’m back to keep you in the loop on how I am fighting for our conservative values.
On Wednesday, the House passed a continuing resolution, or CR, to fund the federal government until December 20. While this process will avoid a government shutdown right before an election, it did not accomplish one of the primary goals of House Republicans: reduce government spending. Therefore, I voted NO on the CR. I appreciate the work that my colleagues have done to draft appropriations bills as we are supposed to do. However, the spending bills that we have passed over the last two years go nowhere in the democrat controlled Senate. I am guardedly optimistic that we will elect a Republican trifecta this November (see below), and be able to get serious about putting this country's financial house in order.
Under Tim Walz’s watchful eye, noncitizens and other ineligible individuals were improperly registered to vote through Minnesota’s automatic voter registration system—an alarming failure of the system liberals forced on our state. As such, my Republican colleagues and I in the House are demanding accountability from Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon and Minnesota Department of Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson. We need to know if these votes impacted past elections, and what will be done to fix this outcome that the democrats claimed wouldn’t happen. Minnesotans deserve to know that their votes are not being diluted by those who shouldn’t be voting. We deserve and demand election integrity.
I was proud to support the Keeping Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act, which passed the House this week and would stop the reckless, radical bail funds that help violent criminals roam free in cities like Minneapolis and New York. Democrats' cashless bail schemes and their support for groups like the Minnesota Freedom Fund give a pat on the back to criminals and endanger law-abiding citizens. These so-called "charitable" bail funds pay to release dangerous offenders, without caring about the devastation they leave behind. Our bill finally brings oversight and accountability to these groups, ensuring violent offenders can't just buy their way back onto our streets. House Republicans are putting law and order first, and it’s about time the Senate does the same.
Saving the best for last… Real Clear Politics moved Minnesota from likely Democrat to a TOSS UP! Early voting is officially open, meaning now is the perfect time to "bank your vote!" By casting your ballot early, you not only build momentum for President Trump and Republicans but also help our campaign reduce the number of calls and mailings you receive. It’s a win-win! So, please don't wait—visit MNVotes.org to learn how to vote early and let’s make history by turning Minnesota RED for the first time in 52 years!
