Kamala called me…
Picture this:
It’s December 2020. I had just been appointed to Chair the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, where I proudly advocated on behalf of our Hispanic communities, both in CA-25 and across the country.
It was the honor of a lifetime. It would’ve been the perfect day. Unfortunately, Covid-19 had different plans.
While members were preparing for the new year, I sat in quarantine, patiently waiting for my doctor to say I was ready to jump back in the fight for my district. I sure was ready, to say the least — and I always will be!
That’s when I got a call from none other than Vice President Elect Kamala Harris, who heard of my situation and reached out to congratulate me on being Chair and discuss the great work we had planned for the weeks to come!
But that was 2020. It’s 2024, and there’s still work to do — be it defending reproductive rights, securing our democracy, or building an economy that uplifts working people — and it’s never been more important that we’re uniting behind our shared vision of progress.
Before my upcoming end-of-quarter fundraising deadline on Monday — the last one before Election Day — I’m asking for your support. Will you chip in $10 to send Kamala Harris to the White House with a Congress who’s ready to get to work?
Thank you,
Raul
