Support with finances is available

A Message from City Council Leader, Cllr David Mellen:

Cllr David Mellen, leader of Nottingham City Council

The coronavirus pandemic is a worrying time for all us. As well as our own and our loved ones? health, we are also worried about personal finances. We are in a period of rapid change and it can be difficult to know what financial help and support there is for our individual circumstances.

The Ask Lion website has put together a page of information to help people manage their finances over the outbreak ? Financial Help and Well-being during COVID-19 and to highlight local organisations that can help.

If you are out of work as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, you can find help and support to claim benefits and find work.

Worrying about finances can really take its toll on our mental health too and it?s important to make time to take care of ourselves. Find out more Looking after mental health during Covid-19

Help available for people who are self-isolating

Don?t forget the council has set up a Customer Hub support service that connects self-isolating people to community support groups and neighbourhood volunteer teams. It means people who perhaps don?t have established support networks can get essentials like food and medicines delivered to them by volunteers, or a visit or phone call to check they?re OK. The Customer Hub on 0115 915 5555 is open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday or you can visit www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/coronavirus
