Hey John,
This November, we have some big goals for our Congressional races, like finally ousting Lauren Boebert from office, and sending Yadira Caraveo back to Congress.
However, there are also some races that fly under the radar and deserve our attention—and our resources—because we have a shot at winning if we compete hard enough.
The race for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District is one of them. We’ve got an incredible Democrat, River Gassen, running to flip this seat blue.
River, who was born in Colorado and grew up in our rugged landscapes, developed a deep appreciation for our natural resources and is committed to protecting our diverse ecosystems and natural environment.
Like many in her generation, her upbringing was marked by the long shadows of school shootings and the impacts of the Great Recession.
She was a student at Arapahoe High School in 2013 when an active shooting took place. During the Great Recession, her family lost their home and struggled to make ends meet. These experiences have made passing adequate gun safety measures and protecting vital programs like Medicaid and SNAP top priorities when she gets to Congress.
Coming from a family of educators, River currently works as an educator at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs in the fields of astronomy and social energy science. With a strong background in education, she’s ready to use data-driven solutions to address our biggest issues.
From fighting for reproductive freedom, protecting our LGBTQ+ and minority communities, expanding access to VA resources and mental health resources, to holding big corporations accountable for their environment and economic impact – River is ready to fight for Colorado's 5th Congressional District.
We know she can win and flip this seat blue, but only with all of our support. Can you split a donation between River Gassen and the Colorado Democratic Party today?
