TELL CONGRESS: As Trump tries to get his criminal charges dropped, Democrats are working to invalidate the extreme right-wing "absolute immunity" ruling. Sign the petition: Pass the No Kings Act! No one is above the law.

Hi,

Trump’s lawyers are still trying to get charges dropped against the former president for his involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.1

Trump’s push to delay and dismiss charges against him has been bolstered by the right-wing Supreme Court’s “absolute immunity” ruling.

But no one is above the law. That’s why Congress must pass the No Kings Act to invalidate the extreme “absolute immunity” ruling and ensure presidents are held accountable for criminal actions!

The ruling in the Trump immunity case never should’ve happened like it did. Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito both had glaring conflicts of interest in the case. They should’ve recused themselves.

Clarence Thomas’s wife, Ginni Thomas, attended the January 6 Stop the Steal rally and pleaded with senior White House staff to help Trump overturn the election in the days leading up to the insurrection.2

And a Stop the Steal style flag was flying above Alito’s house during critical 2020 election cases.3

But the ruling, orchestrated in large part by John Roberts, gives dangerous, unlimited powers to American presidents. Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote, "In every use of official power, the president is now a king above the law." She added that she feared for our democracy.4

Democrats are pushing the No Kings Act to override this dangerous SCOTUS ruling, protect American democracy, and ensure our leaders can be held accountable.
