Dear John,
In 2011, South Sudan declared independence and became the world’s youngest country.
But the nation continues to face challenges, and Atlas Network partners in the region are working hard to advocate for values based on individual liberty.
John Mustapha leads the Organization for Liberty and Entrepreneurship (Olent), an Atlas Network partner based in the city of Yambio.
Olent has been making life-changing progress, notably by advocating for property and inheritance rights for women.
In one case, a woman named Mary lost her husband, and relatives forced Mary and her children to leave their home before stealing the property her late husband used for business.
Olent worked with Mary to defend her rights in court and win back her property. Mary even regained her economic independence by using one of her properties to open a new business.
Olent was able to help Mary because John attended a previous Africa Liberty Forum. He pitched Atlas Network on a project to train women and government officials on how to go about securing property rights.
He won our Think Tank Shark Tank pitch competition, and Olent continues to help women in South Sudan just like Mary.
John pitched for a modest investment, but the return has been substantial for women and property owners in the East African country.
Because of the achievements of our partners like Olent, we’re hosting an end-of-quarter giving campaign to continue supporting our allies in Africa.
Please consider making your first contribution to Atlas Network today, whether that’s with a gift of $5, $10, $25, or any amount.
Your gift will help us support partners just like John, who pitch us with ambitious projects to expand free enterprise and personal agency to the parts of the world that need it most.
Your gift can help women just like Mary.
Please consider joining our end-of-quarter giving campaign before September comes to a close.
Thank you,
Brad Lips
CEO
Atlas Network
P.S. Please send your first gift before Monday night to take part in our end-of-quarter giving campaign. Your gift will support Atlas Network partners in Africa and across the globe. Thank you again!
