The Democrats’ agenda has created one crisis after another while making life unaffordable for hardworking American families. Higher costs at the grocery store and higher costs at the gas station are a direct result of this administration's policies.

From inflation and energy costs to historic illegal immigration and crime to national security and holding those in power accountable, House Republicans have put on full display the contrast of our vision for the country versus the vision of chaos and economic distress of radical Democrats. Earlier this week, I shared just how Republicans intend to fix these Democrat-created crises.

Ensuring Accountability for the Disastrous Afghanistan Withdrawal

The Biden-Harris Administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan is one of the most catastrophic failures in American foreign policy history. The House Foreign Affairs Committee’s investigation has thoroughly demonstrated that the Biden-Harris Administration chose to prioritize optics over the safety and security of Americans.

Despite the tragic loss of life, the Gold Star families of the fallen service members and the American people have yet to see one senior official lose their job or be held responsible. This week, House Republicans passed legislation to hold the Biden-Harris Administration accountable for their catastrophic failures throughout the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Meeting with Belle Chasse Leadership

Each and every day, I am grateful for the courageous men and women who sacrifice so much to protect America and our freedom. It is important that we give our men and women in uniform the tools they need to train properly and have the best military technology in the world.

Earlier this week, I met with Major General Justin Swanson, Commander of the 377th Theater Sustainment Command at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, to discuss how we can support the men and women stationed there.

Expanding the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area

Louisiana is world-famous for our unique culture. From our distinct bayou landscapes to the diverse array of wildlife, so much of our storied culture is connected to the uniqueness of the Atchafalaya River Basin and the communities and people connected to it.

I was pleased to see my bill, which expands the boundaries of the existing Atchafalaya National Heritage Area to include Lafourche Parish, pass out of the House Natural Resources Committee last week. I look forward to continuing to work through the legislative process to get this bill signed into law.
