Last night, I made a very difficult decision and I need to share it with you.
When speaking with my team in depth about where we stand in these final weeks before the election, we had a lengthy discussion on campaign strategy. With the election just weeks away, it became clear that we urgently needed to expand our voter outreach to persuade undecided voters in the district.
That means expanding our TV ad buys and putting more organizers on the ground. Those are pretty steep expenses, John. But with less than 40 days until Election Day, I gave my team the clear.
It wasn’t an easy decision because the money wasn’t immediately in the budget and our final quarterly FEC fundraising deadline is quickly approaching.
But I approved the expense because it’s what we need to do to win — and because I bet on this team, knowing you will help us fill the budget gap. That’s how much faith I have in this team and our pro-democracy movement.
I know for a fact that we have two advantages in this race: our commitment to defending our democracy — and you.
