I’m sorry for reaching out so early on a Saturday, but this update couldn't wait:

• Four recent polls show me statistically tied with Eric Hovde.
• In several of these polls, Wisconsin was the closest Senate race being polled.
• RealClearPolitics downgraded our race from “Leans Democrat” to “Toss Up”

I know this is a lot of bad news, but we don’t have a minute to waste. As this race tightens up, Republicans are unleashing ruthless, misleading attack ads against me to tilt the scales in their favor and flip this seat red.

If we don’t reach our fundraising goals, we may have to pull back our ads or stop making new reservations. That means losing crucial opportunities to connect with voters — decisions we cannot afford to make this close to Election Day.

While my megamillionaire opponent can self-fund his campaign to the tune of tens of millions of dollars with the stroke of a pen, I rely on grassroots supporters like you to stay in the fight.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you this morning: Will you chip in to help us get our grassroots fundraising back on track before Monday’s FEC deadline so we can defend Wisconsin’s battleground Senate seat?
