The birds we love are in trouble. You can give 2X the help today. ([link removed])

The lazy, buzzy song of the Black-throated Blue Warbler can often be heard in the undergrowth of leafy eastern woods. But these beloved birds are facing big challenges during their fall migration: Artificial lights from urban areas, buildings, and other structures can cause birds to become confused and stray off course, leading to exhaustion and increased risk of collisions with buildings, windows, and other obstacles. Collision events like these claim the lives of an estimated more than 1 billion birds annually in the US alone.

These vulnerable birds can’t ask for your help. So we’re asking for them: Will you start an annual donation now to protect the birds we love? For a limited time, your first gift will be matched, up to $40,000 thanks to a group of generous donors—so please, start your dependable gift right away. ([link removed])

These combined threats significantly affect birds' ability to reach their breeding and wintering grounds successfully, ultimately impacting their populations. With three billion birds lost in just 50 years, and in the midst of a global biodiversity crisis, we need to do everything in our power to protect those that remain. That’s why our science powers the best path forward to help more birds survive at this critical time. Through science, advocacy, and hands-on conservation, we’re pushing for the large-scale change it will take to ease habitat loss and help alleviate the impacts of the climate crisis.

Fall migration presents a litany of threats for vulnerable birds from building collisions to extreme weather.
