Friend, Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!!
We continue highlighting Latinx leaders fighting for progressive change and justice – both in their communities and nationwide.
This week, we’re celebrating Representative Delia Ramirez of Chicago, IL!
|
Delia Ramirez was elected in 2022 and made history as the first and only Latina Congresswoman from the Midwest.
In Congress, Ramirez is committed to fighting for housing justice, healthcare for all, and comprehensive immigration reform. She has shown she is working to improve the lives of not only her district, but for millions nationwide. By sponsoring bills like the Build Housing with Care Act and the LIFT the BAR Act, she has improved the quality of life for working families.
|
Delia Ramirez is the daughter of Guatemalan immigrants and saw firsthand in her community the impact that a government that fights for working families can have. Before her time in Congress, Ramirez vowed to dedicate her life to advocating for people like her and her parents as a social service director. This eventually led her to run for State Representative where she turned her passion into action.
Despite many obstacles, Ramirez has remained steadfast in her belief that people-centered campaigns will improve the community.

Thank you for celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with us, Friend!
