Friend, it’s Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis!
During my first term as lieutenant governor, I have helped advance some of the most substantial changes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has seen in decades — especially on the issues of gun violence, public safety, and healthcare.
From my childhood days in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, I saw how policies made in distant government halls had real, tangible impacts on the lives of people in my community. But I also saw how gun violence impacted some individuals in my community.
I saw families working hard but still struggling to make ends meet, students with dreams but without the resources to pursue them, and neighborhoods grappling with the consequences of economic and social inequality. These experiences fueled my desire to make a difference and set me on the path to public service.
I’ve had the honor of serving as Pennsylvania’s youngest and first Black Lieutenant Governor, where I’ve fought tirelessly for the issues that matter most—living wages, affordable healthcare, quality education, and gun violence prevention.
As this election approaches, I think about the future I want for America’s children — including my daughter Harper. I want a future where clean air, clean drinking water, and fundamental rights are protected for all. However, that future will be determined by a number of swing states this November.
