Dear John,
As the pandemic rages on, there are so many unknowns. But one thing we know for certain is that women, people of color, and low-paid workers are being hit the hardest by the impacts of the virus — and now it’s becoming increasingly clear that those same groups are getting left behind in recovery efforts, too.
John, today is #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a moment where our voices and actions matter more than ever. What the world looks like post-COVID-19 will depend on the choices we make and the actions we take right now. I know we can build a future that is more just, equitable, and sustainable — but we’re up against legislators and leaders willing to put profit and politics ahead of millions of lives.
Women are disproportionately on the front lines of defense against COVID-19 and its devastating consequences — and every day they are being left behind as a result of decades of policy that undervalues women’s work.
Make your donation in honor of #GivingTuesdayNow to help us fight back in the weeks and months ahead, and your gift will be MATCHED by a generous NWLC supporter to double your impact. [[link removed]]

We’re seeing states reopening against medical advice, further endangering low-paid workers — especially women of color — who will be forced to choose between their health and their paycheck. Undocumented families are being denied access to recovery funds. Child care providers, which were already struggling and operating on razor thin margins before the pandemic, may have to close for good leaving parents without the care they need as states begin to reopen.
It doesn’t have to be this way. The Law Center is doing everything we can to protect workers on the front lines and fight for a safe, sustainable future for all of us by fighting for guaranteed paid leave, support for the most vulnerable workers, and access to affordable health care for all.
Now is the time to fight for the future we want. Help us advocate for women and families during the COVID-19 crisis and recovery efforts and fuel our ongoing fight for gender justice by joining us with a donation before #GivingTuesdayNow ends. [[link removed]]
Together we will come through this difficult time — thank you for your commitment to fighting for what’s right, today and every day.
