** On #GivingTuesdayNow, Support Indigenous-led Responses to COVID-19
------------------------------------------------------------

Greetings Cultural Survival community!

We hope this email finds you healthy and safe! We know that these are difficult times for all of us and our team wants to extend gratitude to you for all of the love and support you’ve shown us during this time and over the past 48+ years. We are working diligently to support our Indigenous partners and the larger global Indigenous community in their self-determined responses to COVID-19 by providing emergency grants to grassroots Indigenous initiatives, producing and distributing radio PSAs in 80+ Indigenous languages, and sharing tool-kits for emergency communication with Indigenous community radio stations. Learn more about the ways we are responding to COVID here ([link removed]) .

Our Indigenous relatives are disproportionately experiencing systemic inequities and discrimination during this pandemic, including limited access to information, internet and cell service, holistic medical care, medical supplies, food, housing and more. While Indigenous Peoples are experiencing these challenges, their traditional knowledge has uniquely positioned them to share important solutions of resilience, like regenerative agriculture, traditional medicine, cooperative economies, and elder care.

If you are in a position to give or received a stimulus check from the U.S. government and are able to pass those funds forward to those in need, we ask that you donate to our COVID-19 campaign today! ([link removed]) We invite you to spread the word about your donation to Cultural Survival on social media under the hashtag #ShareMyCheck and #GivingTuesdayNow.

We recognize that this pandemic has left some of us without jobs and a loss of income. If you are in a tough spot financially, you can help in other ways:
* Discuss what you have learned about how COVID-19 is impacting Indigenous Peoples locally and globally during your family dinners, zoom meetings and virtual happy hours with friends! Follow our work on Facebook ([link removed]) , Twitter ([link removed]) , and Instagram ([link removed]) to guide your discussion.

* Listen to and share the new hit song "Gotta Be Patient" ([link removed]) a collaboration by Michael Bublé, Sofia Reyes, and the Barenaked Ladies. The Barenaked Ladies announced Friday that they will donate their share of the profits from the song to Cultural Survival!

From all of us at Cultural Survival, we thank you for your continued support and ongoing commitment to upholding Indigenous rights and self-determination.

With gratitude,

Galina Angarova (Buryat)
Executive Director
