Kansas and National News, Opinions and a Few Giggles, too!       DEFENDING KANSAS SAVING AMERICA   DONATE VOLUNTEER   Derek Schmidt Standing Tall For Kansas Values These are serious times for our country. An unsecured southern border threatens our public safety and national security. The mounting federal debt weakens our financial stability while trillions of dollars in spending has led to runaway inflation that makes everyday life less affordable for Kansans. On top of that, nanny-state federal bureaucrats in the Biden-Harris administration want to regulate everything from what kind of car we can drive to whether we can cook with a gas stove. As a proud fifth-generation Kansan, I’ve always felt a deep calling to serve the people of our great state. Today, that calling is stronger than ever, which is why I’m running for Kansas’ Second Congressional District. For twelve years as your Attorney General, I fought to protect Kansas families, uphold law and order, and defend our conservative values. I'm ready to take that same fight to Washington. The stakes are high. We must send a Republican to Congress to be an effective voice for us – just as we must reject Kamala Harris’s campaign to impose San Francisco’s radical values and failed policies on the entire country. My track record proves that I won’t back down from a fight. As Attorney General, I personally argued and won three cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, protected Kansans from dangerous criminals, and stood up to the Obama and Biden administrations when their policies threatened our state. I’ll bring that same determination to Congress, where I’ll continue fighting to protect our freedoms, support our farmers, small businesses, and veterans, and ensure that Kansas remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. With the primary election behind us, it is critical that Republicans go forward united into the general election. When we are united, we win. From our local races to the state legislature to our federal offices, every vote counts. Together, we can ensure Kansas stays on the right path, and that the conservative principles we cherish will guide us for generations to come. With your support, we can make a real difference for Kansas and for America. I respectfully ask for your vote as we move forward, united in our mission to Make America Great Again—and to help elect Republicans at every level on November 5. A 6th generation Kansan, Mike is a General Contractor in the Kansas City area and has been involved in Kansas Republican Party politics for nearly three decades. Mike and his wife, Kristi, have five grown children and live in Overland Park.     Dismantling the Deep State: Realigning Government     When President Trump is sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, 2025, the time will have arrived to begin expeditiously dismantling and decommissioning the "Deep State" entrenched in various U.S. government agencies. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Education, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Secret Service (USSS), and other bureaucracies have drifted far from their original mandates, becoming unaccountable, agenda-serving and self-perpetuating entities that undermine democracy and public trust. The EPA was initially formed to safeguard the environment. Still, it has become a bloated regulatory behemoth, wielding unchecked power over industries without considering the economic ramifications or the Americans impacted by their ridiculous interpretations. While environmental protection is critical, the agency’s overreach stifles innovation and job growth, often punishing small businesses with complex regulations that benefit larger corporations. It also duplicates services and oversight administered by each state and is political and wasteful. Once eliminated, it won’t be missed. The US Department of Education, has also veered far off course. Established to ensure educational standards and equal opportunities for all students, it has morphed into a bureaucratic maze that micromanages local schools. Rather than improving outcomes, it has contributed to widening achievement gaps, such as in the Chicago Public School System, where the average high school graduate reads at the 3rd level. This grand and dangerous experiment has failed generations of children, students, teachers, employers, parents and American society at large, compromising our standing on the global stage. The FBI and the U.S. Secret Service have both been plagued by scandals and accusations of political bias. The FBI, once a shining symbol of impartial justice, now stands accused of targeting political opponents and meddling in the electoral processes. Similarly, the USSS has faced lapses in security protocols that raise serious concerns about its competence. Both former iconic American institutions need a complete overhaul in leadership and management. The FBI has become far too political and the USSS is a paper tiger making it stunningly dangerous to those it is built to protect. The staggeringly stupid agenda of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) has played a key role in the recent rapid quality decline in all parts of government including our military. Realignment is obviously necessary. These agencies need to be streamlined, refocused, or, in some cases, dissolved. Power must be returned to the states and local communities where it belongs. The deep state represents a shadow government that operates beyond the control of voters and it's high time we reclaim the democratic accountability that has been eroded. America thrives when its government serves the people, not when it governs over them unchecked. The origins of the "deep state" can be traced to severe concerns about government overreach, especially following incidents like Edward Snowden’s revelations of mass surveillance and endless government snooping beginning with the George W. Bush Administration and the Patriot Act passage. In the name of chasing terrorism many freedoms and privacy were compromised. And then the snooping surveillance and prying mushroomed during the Obama administration. The growing intrusion of the state into the lives of citizens, particularly through the CIA and FBI, has steadily fueled substantial and growing public distrust. When Snowden declared, “there's definitely a deep state,” it wasn’t a wild baseless claim—it was the voice of someone who had witnessed the powerful machinery from the inside. What Trump has tapped into is a rapidly growing unease with the hidden mechanisms of power. His ongoing promise to dismantle the deep state resonates with tens-of-millions who see it as the root cause of corruption, cronyism, and inefficiency within the federal government. In his view, the deep state is not just a political adversary but a threat to the sovereignty and security of the American people. The struggle is, deep state isn't a monolithic entity operating in secret. In reality, it is a tantacled beast with a specific gravity. Within layers of classic bureaucracy and institutional inertia that often resist change, it always fights outsiders attempting to challenge the status quo. The challengers are deemed troublemakers and the mainstream media - the DNC’s communications department, happily begins the smear campaign never pausing to ask the next set of important questions. This sycophant and derelict behavior begs a Congressional review of the MSM’s vast protections under the U.S. Constitution. The difficulty even for a President, the most powerful human being on the planet, to overcome entrenched interests within the government is monumental. Dismantling the deep state may sound radical, but it's absolutely necessary to ensure that America’s democracy remains vibrant and accountable. Without real and transparent checks on these invisible power structures, the American people are left with an illusion of choice, while real power lies elsewhere. The need for transparency and reform has never been more urgent. It’s time to confront the deep state—and restore democracy to the people. Government closest to the people is the best government. America First. Always America First.     Megan Kelly Eviscerates Tim Walz Megan Kelly appeared with Tucker Carlson at his Tucker Carlson Live show in Kansas City. In an unscripted firehose-of-truth monologue encouraged by Tucker, Megan blasted Tim Walz, the Democrat VP candidate. The facts about “transgender”were pointed, sharp, direct and spot-on. Enjoy.     Consumer Confidence Collapses Under Harris Administration “It Feels Worse Because it is Worse.”     The economy is in full contraction, and the media is still painting a rosy picture for Harris, but the early signs of a full-blown recession are right in front of us. Consumer credit card debt is at highs. Credit card delinquency rates are skyrocketing. Gasoline consumption is waning which is why the price of fuel is coming down. The largest restaurant food supply companies in America saw a precipitous drop starting a month ago and restauranteurs are feeling it now. The machine is slowing down. But even with all of these obvious warning signs, the endlessly failing Harris Administration continues to drag the economy down further. The Conference Board’s consumer confidence index dropped 6.9 points in August, marking the sharpest decline since August 2021, right when inflation began its devastating surge. This time, it’s the labor market that’s collapsing. A staggering 18.3% of respondents now say “jobs are hard to get,” the highest since 2017, while only 12.6% believe “jobs are easy to get,” the lowest since 2017. Worse yet, economic expectations are teetering just above recessionary levels. Recession has arrived, and with Harris at the helm, a full-blown depression is looming. Vote Trump. Save America     “Keep Nine?" A Critical Question for 2024 VP Debate     As the 2024 election approaches, a serious and pressing issue is whether America will maintain an independent U.S. Supreme Court that defends our Constitutional rights. The integrity of our Constitutional Republic and democracy is on the line. The Constitution does not fix the number of Supreme Court Justices, allowing Congress to change it. This means if one party gains control of Washington, it could manipulate the Court’s composition to consolidate its power. The opposing party, when in power, would likely retaliate. If this cycle continues, we could see a Supreme Court with 30+ Justices in 40 years. For the past 155 years, the Court has had nine Justices. And nine works perfectly. What we must maintain is an independent Supreme Court that upholds the rule of law, not one swayed by overbearing political influence. The Court must remain a check against the abuse of power and control. Despite this, calls to expand the Court are gaining momentum. Several major interest groups and leading Democrats have expressed support for increasing the number of Justices, with many in Congress backing the “Judiciary Act” to do so. Yet, not a single Democrat in the current Congress has supported the proposed “Keep Nine” Amendment. Introduced by a Democrat in 2020 and supported by 200 members of Congress, this amendment would permanently set the number of Justices at nine. Even Democrats who claim to oppose Court expansion have refused to endorse this amendment, raising questions about their sincerity. With the Vice Presidential debate approaching next week on October 1st, a straightforward question should be asked of both candidates: “What is your position on the ‘Keep Nine’ Amendment?” A clear answer could reveal whether the candidates are truly committed to safeguarding judicial Even Democrats who claim to oppose Court expansion have refused to endorse this amendment, raising questions about their sincerity.     KSGOP Registers 55.85 Times More New Voters than Dems     Republicans + 2.3142% Democrats +0.0008% Republicans in Kansas have seen a significant boost in voter registration over the past few years, increasing their registered voters by nearly 2.5% between 2020 and 2024. This surge, especially this past summer, can be attributed to the tireless efforts of dedicated Republican leaders and volunteers across the state at gas stations, gun shows, and signing up freshly minted 18 high school seniors. These grassroots efforts have paid off, with new registrants recognizing the party’s commitment to growth, prosperity, and leadership. In contrast, the Democratic Party has predictably faced a period of stagnation. Their new voter registrations increased by a mere 0.008%, a negligible figure that reflects the party’s difficulty in resonating with voters. Democrats continue struggling to present compelling ideas or initiatives to propel Kansas forward into the future. Their anemic minimal growth suggests a lack of energy and enthusiasm within the party, leaving voters searching for alternative leadership and migrating to the Republican Party. Kansas Republicans, on the other hand, continue to provide a robust and visionary platform that attracts new voters. Whether it’s addressing economic concerns, championing conservative values, or focusing on the state’s long-term success, the message is clear and compelling to many Kansans. The rise in Republican registrations demonstrates Republican leadership is resonant with the state’s electorate. As the 2024 elections approach, the Republican Party’s growing base signals confidence in our vision for a stronger, more prosperous Kansas.
