John,
Today is #GivingTuesdayNow, and as the nonprofit community comes together to respond to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, we are making sure animals impacted by this crisis, especially those who are already victims of abuse, get the care they need — and we need your help.
Right now, the Animal Legal Defense Fund is providing aid for multiple animals seized from abusive situations and being held as evidence in temporary shelters. Among them are two horses named Birdie and Tulip. With the trial against their abuser delayed due to the pandemic and the court system backing up, Birdie, Tulip, and the rest of the horses rescued in this neglect case need long-term care while they wait for justice.
John, your donation now, triple matched up to $250,000, can help them. Like all horses, Birdie and Tulip need plenty of hay to eat, and room to roam and play. Because of their past trauma, these horses also need specialized care and rehabilitation to heal and get ready for their forever homes, when that day finally comes. |

While we fight to ensure their accused abuser is brought to justice when their case resumes, we are also providing funds to help cover the costs of care for these horses for as long as it takes. We’re doing the same for multiple other animals rescued in cruelty and neglect cases — dogs and cats, farmed animals, and wild animals — who now find themselves in temporary shelters indefinitely until trials can resume.
Thankfully, our generous friends at the Carroll Petrie Foundation are offering a $250,000 triple matching gift today so we can be there for animals who need our protection and to inspire you to join these efforts on this global day of giving. I hope you’ll help us meet this challenge with your gift by midnight tonight. Your gift will be tripled, so we can help even more animals live the happy, healthy lives they deserve safe from cruelty and abuse. Thank you for all you do for innocent animals across the country. |
For the animals,
