** ASA Attends WFSA Meetings
------------------------------------------------------------

Suppressors are legal in many countries around the world. However, as an American, it is incredibly difficult to take your suppressor abroad. ASA is working to fix that.

Last week, ASA attended the Fall Plenary Sessions of the World Forum on Shooting Activities (WFSA) in Stockholm, where we received the initial results of an ASA-supported, WFSA-commissioned survey on suppressor laws around the world. Earlier this year, ASA became a voting member of the WFSA, a conglomeration of 90+ shooting and hunting organizations from across the globe. The purpose of the WFSA is to provide a united front on international policy affecting the firearms and hunting communities.

ASA’s goals are threefold:

1) to protect your suppressor rights at home

2) to create export opportunities for American manufacturers in legal markets

3) to give American suppressor owners the ability to travel with their suppressors to countries where suppressor possession is also legal.

Firearm and suppressor rights are under constant attack at the global level. Make no mistake, anti-gun groups are working directly with the European Union, United Nations, and other government factions to restrict your rights. ASA is committed to confronting these challenges head-on in order to ensure that your suppressor rights are protected at home and expanded abroad.

Tomorrow at 10:45 AM PDT, ASA President & Executive Director, Knox Williams, and Silencer Shop General Counsel, Chris Boeck, will present Silencers and the Second Amendment at SAF’s annual Gun Rights Policy Conference. The presentation will take a deep dive into how suppressors and the Second Amendment are intertwined, and how the growth in popularity of suppressors in the past two decades will help shape future policy and litigation surrounding these commonsense hearing protection devices. Attending in person? We’ll see you there! Can’t be there? You can watch the presentation live, and all of the GRPC presentations, by clicking the button below.
