Dear John,

As a law student in Uganda, Imran Lutakome drove to school using a motorbike, one of the more affordable modes of transportation in the East African country.

One evening as he rode home, he was stopped by police who confiscated his motorbike and demanded bribes to have it returned.

Imran heard similar stories from other motorbike drivers and learned the truth about Ugandan motorbike policy…

There was a system in place to enable corruption. Driver’s licenses to legally operate motorbikes were intentionally made expensive so police could extract bribes from locals.

Citizens who drove motorbikes for a living could either pay up or be expelled from the capital city.

Imran decided it was time to change the system.

He received training through Atlas Network Academy and then used his new knowledge to lead a media campaign through his group, Ethical African Organization, giving a voice to the country’s motorbike drivers.

Ethical African brought their concerns all the way to the Prime Minister’s office, and their reforms to drop the cost of a motorbike license by over 75% passed into law, effectively ending the system of corruption and restoring dignity to transportation workers in Uganda.

Thanks to the training and guidance provided by Atlas Network Academy, Ethical African succeeded in transforming the economic fortunes of hundreds of thousands of East Africans.

Atlas Network Academy and our other programs are entirely funded by our donor community, and that’s why, from now until the end of the month, we’re hosting an end-of-quarter giving campaign to support our partners throughout Africa and worldwide.

We want to ensure our partners like Ethical African have the resources to continue bringing free enterprise and personal liberty to their parts of the world.

Please support Atlas Network Academy and our other programs by sending your first gift before the end of the month.

Ethical African is a great example of how Atlas Network Academy helps deliver enormous wins for personal liberty around the globe, and we couldn’t do it without the generosity of our donor community.

Please consider joining us by sending your first gift.

Thank you,
