John, I wanted to share this amazing news with you right away. Just yesterday, the DSCC announced that they are investing millions of dollars into Texas to help us beat Ted Cruz and flip this seat blue! This incredible news comes on the heels of us pulling ahead of Cruz in a poll — another huge first in this race! It couldn’t be clearer: We have the momentum, and we’re going to win. National Democrats like the DSCC are investing critical resources here because they are seeing what I’ve been saying all along: Texans are ready for change, and we are in a strong position to FINALLY send Ted Cruz packing.
We know that this investment is going to bring even more national attention to Texas. Both Democrats and Republicans are laser-focused on this race because they know it could decide Senate control. Ted Cruz and his allies are already planning to outspend us 6-to-1, and you can bet they’ll be pouring even more into attack ads against me when they see today’s headlines. So it’s particularly important that we reach our final end-of-quarter goal of this race ahead of the FEC’s filing deadline on Monday. What we raise will be a matter of public record, and we need to show Ted and his allies we’re not backing down from a fight.
