We need your help to advocate for our Iranian-American community in the midst of this pandemic.

Dear John,

The coronavirus pandemic has not just influenced the way we work, but the work itself.

At NIAC, we've ramped up our efforts to safeguard human dignity. We have led the effort to suspend inhumane sanctions that are endangering the lives of Iranians during the crisis. We’ve fought for prisoners unjustly detained by ICE here in the U.S., including an innocent Iranian who has now contracted coronavirus in an ICE prison cell. And, after seeing what happened in Wisconsin’s recent election, we're fighting to protect democracy and ensure there is a vote in November by supporting Vote by Mail for all states during the pandemic.

I’m going to be very direct: many have tightened their belts to deal with the impact of this crisis, and — like many organizations, businesses, and families — we at NIAC face an uncertain financial situation as a result of the pandemic.

That’s why I’m coming to you directly, John. If you are currently in a position to do so, will you double down on your commitment to NIAC at this critical time? We need your help to advocate for our Iranian-American community in the midst of this pandemic.

I am pleased that, in support of nonprofit organizations like NIAC, the organizers of #GivingTuesday have launched an emergency day of giving TODAY: #GivingTuesdayNow. Starting today and through the end of this week, every donation to NIAC and NIAC Action will be doubled — up to $25,000.

Donate today

If you are able to do so, I hope you’ll contribute to support our work on #GivingTuesdayNow. Anything helps, and your support is important.

Thank you,

Jamal Abdi
