Schumer chose not to bring a single appropriations bill to the Senate floor and instead brought a continuing resolution to kick the can down the road for the next three months. I don't believe in shutting down the government, but at the same time, I am not going to support bad leadership. This is 100% bad leadership. Watch my Weekly Wrap Up here.
It was an honor to meet with Gold Star Families from Oklahoma this week. From left to right, Meka is the widow of USAF Capt Cartize Durham and Isabell and Emily are the daughter and widow of Capt David “JP” Thompson. We will continue to celebrate the legacies of our Gold Star heroes and recognize the sacrifice their families have also made on our country's behalf. May this be a reminder to us all that freedom is not free.
It was great to see familiar faces from the State Chamber of Oklahoma during their visit to Washington this week. The chamber represents a significant portion of Oklahoma's economic landscape, with over 1,500 member companies and a workforce of more than 350,000 individuals. It was an honor to deliver remarks on a range of topics including how we can support and fuel businesses, Oklahoma's aerospace and defense industries, and Israel's posture towards Hezbollah and Iranian-backed terrorist groups. Thank you to State Chamber President & CEO Chad Warmington for having me.
