Dear Friend of the National Parks,
Over the years, park advocates like you have spoken up on behalf of the places we all love and supported our work protecting America's national parks.
That work continues, even now. We're still fighting to protect our national treasures and to stand up for park staff. We've started hosting online Park Talks and launched a new digital community to help park advocates stay connected. It's work I hope you'll continue to join and support.
But today I'm asking you to do something a little different.
Communities across the country are coming together for a special day called Giving Tuesday Now. It's a day to show our appreciation and support for the people on the front lines fighting the Covid-19 pandemic -- grocery workers, doctors, nurses and everyone who's working so hard to keep our communities safe.
I explain more in a new video message that you can watch here:
Community organizations need your support today. Whether it's food banks or relief funds for frontline workers, there are thousands of worthy causes... too many to list here. I hope you'll go online and search for an organization that's helping your community weather this crisis.
Park advocates fight for national parks because they're breathtaking, unifying places -- places that bring out the best in us. On this day of unity, I'm asking you to think about the workers and organizations who also embody the best in all of us... and show your support however you can.
Thank you for your generosity today, and every day.
Sincerely,
Theresa Pierno
President and CEO
