This is breaking news, John.

President Biden and Vice President Harris just announced an Executive Order to improve school-based active shooter drills and combat the emerging threats of machinegun conversion devices and unserialized, 3D-printed firearms, as well as additional executive actions to reduce gun violence and save lives.
This is the type of concrete gun safety progress that we need to keep fighting for. If Trump wins in November, progress like this will come to a halt and in many cases, revert backward. Can you chip in anything you can now to protect gun safety progress and ensure we can keep moving forward?

Here are just some of the strong steps forward in the new Executive Order:
- Combating machinegun conversion devices and unserialized, 3D-printed firearms.
- Emphasizing safe storage in schools by providing schools, school boards, and policymakers with a new tool to promote safe gun storage in their communities.
- Improving school-based active shooter drills by appointing experts to develop and publish information for K-12 schools and higher education institutions.
- Establishing an Emerging Firearms Threats Task Force, consisting of leadership from key federal departments and agencies.
- Providing an additional $85 million in funding through the Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative.
- Publishing additional data on ghost gun trends and firearms trafficking.
- Facilitating voluntary out-of-home storage to prevent firearm suicide.
- And more!
These are the types of investments we need in our schools and communities to help eradicate gun violence once and for all. But this is just a start, John. Keeping our momentum going looks like getting out the vote, continuing to mobilize youth around the country, and electing Kamala Harris — a candidate who is willing to prioritize gun safety.
Can you help us do just that by donating $5 or more today?
