The biggest deadline of the election so far is Monday, John: the final quarterly FEC deadline. 

These are quarterly benchmarks when campaigns are required by law to publicly report their finances for the previous three months. Our final FEC report is a sign of the strength of and enthusiasm for our movement.

We need to come out of this deadline in a strong position because Election Day is a little over five weeks away, and in some states, voters are already casting their ballots. The money that comes in now will be used immediately to help get voters to the polls for Democrats.

We need to work as hard as we ever have because this election is going to be close and Washington Republicans are already gearing up to undermine the results if they don’t go their way.

The GOP is delegitimizing the election before it’s even happened. They’re resurfacing their repeatedly debunked claims of voter fraud, filing hundreds of preemptive election lawsuits, enlisting hundreds of thousands of volunteers to watch polls, and pushing voter suppression tactics, like voter roll purges and restrictions on voting from home.

It all lays the groundwork for the GOP to challenge the election results if Trump loses. It’s been called a “more organized, more calculated version of their misinformation strategy from 2020.”
