Friends,
My name is Debbi Hixon, and this is my husband, Chris. Six years ago, Chris was murdered during the Parkland Massacre.
As a US Navy veteran and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s athletic director and wrestling coach, Chris was used to giving his all to serve those in his community, and he died doing the same — storming into the building to confront the gunman terrorizing his school.
Although it’s painful, in honor of Chris and the other 16 Parkland Victims, I’ve dedicated my life to changing policies and passing the laws our country needs to make staff, teachers, and students safe going to school again.
With a legislative session just around the corner, I and the other founding families of Stand with Parkland are gearing up for the big session ahead of us — and we’re taking advantage of every chance we can get to meet with elected officials about passing school safety legislation.
But we can’t do that without raising enough to get us to the legislature in the first place. If you’re able, can you help me honor my husband's life by donating in support of Stand with Parkland’s work today? Whatever amount you can give will help us continue to drive real progress on school safety, and would mean the world to me.
